REKS

REKS

REKS performs from inside the exhibition “Writing the Future: Basquiat and the Hip-Hop Generation,” part of the Sound Bites: Nancy Lee Clark Concert Series. Hear from the artist throughout his performance as he speaks with WBUR’s Arielle Gray, sharing insights into his music and discussing his connection to hip-hop’s transformative power across generations.

With eleven albums and several mix tapes under his belt, REKS has been one of the most consistent independent hip-hop artists in the business for two decades and counting. He is renowned for creating high-quality, sanitized rap music with a muscular vocal delivery, dexterous wordplay, and gritty, street-oriented lyricism. His eleventh album, Order in Chaos, came out in 2018.
